Fireplace Insulation
The point of a fireplace used to be for warmth. People would all gather around the fireplace and enjoy their meals, tell stories, sing songs until they fell asleep. Now a fireplace is a much more aesthetic item; sort of the vain persons affirmation that they are in fact wealthy, popular, and able to get by in this world. However, since the fireplace has gone from a centerpiece of a village to an accessory of a home, fireplace insulation must be of paramount importance.
In the beginnings, the idea of insulating around a fireplace was probably rudimentary and not very good. It's for this reason that insulation has become such an important component to any persons home fireplace. We should never be leading out more heat and or putting in to our homes; especially for the reason that fireplaces today are not lit every day but rather on special occasion or once in a while. It used to be that fires were lit first thing in the morning and kept lit most of the day until the fire was put out right before the last person went to sleep.
However the things that are important today are maintaining the things that we have and strengthening them evermore. For this reason insulating around the fireplace is very important. If we needed to use something like a gas fireplace insulation in our home, that wouldn't be saying the heck of a lot about a craftsman types of this world, who offered their services for home insulation.
Insulating around fireplaces is important because you want to make sure that no draft gets in during the day and also that no stray animals can come in who see lights or feel the heat when the fire is burning or just see the opening when it's not. The easiest way to let a pest into your house is through the front door or through the fire door as it were.
It's the same for insulating a fireplace mantel; you want to be sure that you are not leading in the wrong kind of influences and letting out your own heats and your own well-being. Also for your health! What starts as a draft can turn into a recurring sickness for whoever's in the house at the time who was susceptible to it.
Insulating a fireplace is always a good idea, so long as there's oxygen for you to breathe as throwing out your insulation is just as silly an idea as any.
